Kathmandu, Nepal –“Fintech’s Role in Increasing Access to Finance for MSMEs” event held at Hotel Himalaya in Pulchowk, Kathmandu, emerged as a resounding success, marking a significant milestone in addressing the crucial issue of financial inclusion for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Nepal.
Organized by Aloi in collaboration with the Fintech Alliance Nepal (FAN), the Nepal Bankers’ Association (NBA), and the United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF), the event witnessed insightful discussions, knowledge sharing, and strategic collaborations aimed at harnessing the potential of financial technology (Fintech) to empower MSMEs and drive economic growth.
Highlights of the event included the opening remark by Saroj Nepal, Country Relationship Manager, UNCDF and the insightful presentations by Tiffany Tong, CEO of Aloi Global, who shed light on global trends in productive lending and the impact of climate finance. Inspiring success stories from MSME representatives across sectors underscored the transformative power of access to finance. The panel discussion,moderated by Sanjib Subba, Founding Chair of Fintech Alliance Nepal, brought together distinguished panelists who explored strategies for leveraging Fintech to enhance MSME financing.
The event concluded with closing remarks by Laxmi Prasad Prasai, Director of the PSD Department at Nepal Rastra Bank, and Kapil Gautam, representing the Nepal Bankers’ Association, reaffirming the commitment of all stakeholders to drive positive change and foster an inclusive financial ecosystem for MSMEs in Nepal.
